Driving and Safety
Check that roof bars and the tent are firmly secured. Be careful in parking with low or minimum height clearance.
Before you drive
Make sure your roof bars and the tent mounts are well secured — clamps tight, hardware locked, cover closed for travel. If anything feels loose, stop and fix it with the owner’s guidance before you leave.
Height clearance
With a rooftop tent, your vehicle is taller. Be cautious in parking garages, barriers, tunnels, and other places with a minimum height limit. Check signs and leave extra margin.
While driving
You can drive normally with a rooftop tent.
- Drive smoothly; allow more stopping distance and space in turns
- Recheck mounts after the first short drive if you can stop safely
